Church in a circle. Drinks in hand. Donuts within reach. The Bible open. Questions very welcome.
We sit in a circle because donuts are circles... and because this isn’t a show. When you’re here, you’re part of the action. You’re the jam in our donut, or something.
Grab a donut.
Carbs. Sugar. Iced, glazed, fancy or hot cini. They’re just bread to be enjoyed, even if the bread, the circle, and the hole point to something bigger. Grab a drink from our in-house barista, pull up a chair and settle in.
Hear from the Bible.
No prior knowledge assumed. We’ll make sure everyone can follow along, and our eyes don’t glaze over, as we see how this ancient book can take us from “in the hole” to “holy”; from “empty” to filled with life as we see it point to Jesus, the “bread of life”, and the well-rounded fullness he offers.
And we’ll try to get real about the holes we find ourselves in and the difference the wholeness Jesus offers makes in real life.
Talk about it.
Someone’ll open part of the Bible. We talk about it. It’s a conversation, not a lecture. We ask where Jesus fits. Jump in, disagree, listen, laugh, or say, “I have no idea what that means.” There’s room in this circle for you.
Bring a whole lot of questions.
Questions are the point. You don’t get put on the spot; but you can put us on the spot and pick holes in what we say. If we get in a jam, we’ll tell you we don’t know, then follow up and bring more answers next time. We’re taking an adventure in curiosity together.
Break bread and share a cup with us.
Jesus broke bread in the wilderness. He broke bread with his friends. And since then communities have been breaking bread together and sharing a drink to remember him. We’ll invite you to join millions of people who’ve found life “at the table” with Jesus.
Come hungry. Bring a whole lot of questions.
